03/26/2008 - The College of Business recently partnered with BusinessWeek to be part of their BusinessWeek Business School Connection Program. Students will now be provided with a valuable subscription to BusinessWeek magazine as well as access to its award-winning web site, BusinessWeek.com.


Turney Stevens named College of Business Dean
03/26/2008 - Turney Stevens, former CEO of Harpeth Companies, founder of Nashville! Magazine, and former president of Rodgers Capital Corporation, will take on the reins of Lipscomb University’s College of Business on April 1.


Lipscomb Wins NCAA "Pack the House" Challenge
03/26/2008 - Lipscomb University was one of 32 winners in the NCAA Division I “Pack the House” Challenge. Schools urged fans to “Pack the House” for selected women’s basketball games from January 1 through February 17. And pack the house, they did. Almost two-thirds of the Division I membership – 198 institutions – participated in the effort that attracted more than 592,000 fans.


Jacob Arthur: Prepared for the Journey
03/26/2008 - When asking peers and professors to describe Jacob Arthur, several words come up frequently: unique, talented, outstanding, exceptional. Arthur certainly seems to live up to those descriptions in all areas of his life. As a Lipscomb University senior, Arthur will graduate with honors in May majoring in both computer science and accounting. In August, he will also be among the first class of graduates for Lipscomb’s master of accountancy program.


Finance students beat the S&P for 2007 in annual TVA Investment Challenge
03/26/2008 - If you’re interested in playing the stock market, looks like you should hire a student to manage your portfolio. While commentators nationwide are bemoaning the slowdown in the economy, a group of Lipscomb University finance students beat the bank in 2007 with a 14.29 percent return on their stock portfolio. This compares to the S&P 500 return of 5.49 percent for the year.


Turney Stevens - Executive in Residence
01/23/2008 - Turney Stevens, recently retired CEO of Harpeth Companies, LLC, has been appointed as executive-in-residence and assistant professor of business at Lipscomb University. Stevens, an alumnus of Lipscomb, has spent 35 years as a leader in Nashville business, primarily in the investment banking field, but also as founder of PlusMedia Inc., which published Nashville! Magazine, and as founder of a commercial printing company with $240 million in revenues.


Mock Interviews Help Prep. Students for Real World
11/19/2007 - Each semester, Mock Interviews are conducted in Lipscomb's Management Communication classes. This year we had10 quest recruiters in the 9:00 class of 29 students and 9 guest recruiters in the 11:00 class of 27 students. Each recruiter was given an "office" on the 3rd floor of Lipscomb's new Ezell Center and during three 10 minute sessions, students (posing as job candidates) rotated through three rounds of interviews. Each student was an interviewee for one session, and an observer for two other sessions.
