Lipscomb University's College of Business offers a variety of programs for students interested in business.
Department of Accounting
Accounting (132 hours)
The Accounting Major is designed to prepare students for careers in professional accounting and help students develop critical thinking skills essential for business advisors.
BBA Accounting/MAcc (150 hours)
The joint BBA/MAcc degrees provides for a total of 150 hours and students will obtain both an undergraduate degree with a major in Accounting and a Master of Accountancy (MAcc) degree. This prepares students to qualify to sit for the CPA Examination.
Department of Management
Corporate Management
Students aspiring to CEO, General Manager, or Entrepreneur will find this broad, all-encompassing major a great fit. By learning all functional areas of business, students can specialize their careers based upon their own personal interests.
Human Resource Management
This major enables students to work with employers on their most valuable
asset - their people! Students will be prepared for a number of careers within the HR arena including positions within Training & Development, Compensations & Benefits, Employee Relations. Additionally, students are skilled for broader HR Generalist roles.
International Business
Business is blind to geographic boundaries. This major recognizes that students must compete in a global marketplace. With the incorporation of international travel, foreign language, and cultural awareness, this program prepares students to work in multinational corporations or government entities whether in the United States or abroad.
Department of Finance
Financial Management
The Financial Management Major is for students interested in working in corporate finance and is offered in conjunction with the department of Accounting.
Financial Markets
The Financial Markets Major is for students who desire a career in financial services and is similar to finance offered by other universities.
Department of Marketing
Marketing
The Marketing Major is for students wishing to prepare more generally for a career in marketing. It is managerially oriented and provides students the full complement of conceptual and quantitative courses necessary to prepare for managerial positions in business.
Marketing-Graphic Design (B.S. degree)
The Marketing-Graphic Design major combines most of the curriculum of the traditional marketing major with a minor in Graphic Design (offered by the Department of Art) to provide students with the opportunity to develop specific knowledge, abilities, and skills that can be used to assist firms with a variety of marketing communication tasks.
